Event Photography | Brisbane | Burwell Art Exhibition

About 9 months ago I met Scott Burwell through a mutual friend, and when I learnt of his passion for his unique art and the family history involvement, I knew I had to be involved in this project.

Scott Burwell of Burwell Art uses boomerangs as his substrate for his painting works which include wildlife and nature as his inspiration. Why boomerangs you ask? - well why not, but as it happens the Burwell family has manufactured and thrown boomerangs for generations. The Burwell family have even presented boomerangs to the Beatles.  While Scott didn't join the family in making or throwing the boomerangs, his take on the iconic Australian boomerang is use them in his art - what he likes to refer to as "BoomTych".

Over the weekend, Scott held his first public art exhibition at Mansfield Tavern in Mansfield near Mount Gravatt and had 25 pieces of work on display in a range of presentation options including canvases, framed prints, acrylic mounted frames, and postcards to ensure there was something for everyone.

Boots Creative + The Coffee Table Book had been working with Scott over the last couple of months to produce a coffee table book to showcase his 25 pieces which was on display at the exhibition. The book came up stunning as Scott had gone to the effort of having his original artworks professionally photographed  for high-end reproduction. The book is a great marketing tool for Scott to carry around with him to show potential art collectors and galleries without having to lug huge pieces of art.

Boots Creative + The Coffee Table Book also donated a prize to the Raffle - congrats to Yvonne L who has won a 12"x12" 40 side coffee table book.

Boots Photography also was there on Friday night for the opening to photograph the event - here are just some highlights ...
